Google’s upcoming midrange phone, the Pixel 9a, has been the subject of numerous leaks. While several specifications were already rumoured, a new leak has now revealed the full details. The information comes from a wireless carrier and has been verified by an additional source.
The Google Pixel 9a will feature Google’s in-house Tensor G4 processor paired with the Titan M2 security chip, like the Pixel 9 series. It will offer 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and storage options of either 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1. The Pixel 9a will feature a 6.285-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080×2424, a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and an impressive peak brightness of 2700 nits. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 for added durability.

On the back, it will sport a 48MP main camera with an f/1.7 aperture, powered by the Samsung GN8 Quad Dual Pixel sensor. Complementing it is a 13MP ultra-wide camera with an f/2.2 aperture, utilizing the Sony IMX712 sensor. The selfie camera will also use the Sony IMX712 sensor for high-quality front-facing shots.
The Pixel 9a will pack a 5100mAh battery, offering 13% more capacity than the Pixel 8a. It supports 23W wired charging and 7.5W wireless charging. The device is rated IP68 for dust and water resistance. In terms of size, the phone measures 154.7 x 73.3 x 8.9mm, making it slightly taller and wider than its predecessor. Despite the size increase, it is lighter than the Pixel 8a, weighing just 185.9g.
The Pixel 9a will be available in four color options: Obsidian, Porcelain, Iris, and Peony. The starting price remains unchanged at $499, with the India price likely to begin at INR 52,999, matching its predecessor. It will run on Android 15 and promises seven years of OS and security updates. The phone is expected to launch in March.
