Samsung recently launched its ultra-slim Galaxy S25 Edge, measuring just 5.8mm in thickness and weighing 163g. Now, a fresh leak has revealed key details about Apple’s upcoming thin and lightweight flagship — the iPhone 17 Air — including its expected battery size, weight, and thickness. Let’s take a closer look.

Leaked details reveal Apple iPhone 17 Air's slim design, lightweight body, and battery capacity compared to Galaxy S25 Edge

According to a recent report citing supply chain sources, the iPhone 17 Air is expected to come with a 2800mAh battery — significantly smaller than the Galaxy S25 Edge’s 3900mAh unit. However, Apple seems to be focusing on ultra-slim design, with the iPhone 17 Air reportedly measuring just 5.5mm thick, making it 0.3mm thinner than Samsung’s latest offering.

Leaks also suggest that Apple might use high-density battery technology to boost capacity by 15–20%. According to internal testing, the iPhone 17 Air’s battery may last a full day for 60–70% of users — lower than the 80–90% seen with other iPhones. On the software front, Apple is also said to be working on a new AI-powered battery-saving feature in iOS 19, which could help extend battery life even further.

The leak also highlights that the iPhone 17 Air will be extremely lightweight at just 145 grams — even lighter than the Galaxy S25 Edge’s 163 grams. What’s more impressive is that Apple has achieved this while reportedly including a larger display.
