The OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R smartphones from the OnePlus 13 series officially launched on January 7. Both devices feature upgraded processors, enhanced cameras, and several other notable improvements. Let’s take a closer look at the details.

Let’s start with the OnePlus 13. It features a 6.82-inch QHD+ LTPO display similar to its predecessor, with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 4500 nits. Thanks to new technology, the display offers better visibility under sunlight. The phone has a quad-curved display, and its rear camera design has been updated. The cameras are now separate from the side panels, showcasing Hasselblad branding outside the camera module.

Another major upgrade is its processor, as the OnePlus 13 is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset built on a 3nm process. It also introduces a new 24GB RAM and 1TB storage variant, alongside the 12GB/256GB and 16GB/512GB options. This time, OnePlus has moved away from the green color and offers the device in Midnight Ocean, Arctic Dawn, and Black Eclipse.

In the camera department, the OnePlus 13 boasts three 50MP rear cameras: a main sensor, a new ultrawide lens, and a new periscope telephoto lens. The device supports 8K video recording at 30fps. The selfie camera remains the same but now supports 4K video recording at both 60fps and 30fps, ensuring professional-grade image quality.

The battery has also received a significant upgrade, now offering a 6000mAh capacity compared to the 5400mAh in the OnePlus 12, thanks to Silicon Carbon technology. Despite the larger battery, the phone is thinner at just 8.5mm and slightly lighter, weighing 210g. Additionally, the OnePlus 13 now boasts an IP69 rating, an improvement over the IP65 rating of its predecessor.

The OnePlus 13R retains many display features from the OnePlus 12R, including a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 4500 nits peak brightness. It now comes with Gorilla Glass 7i protection, an upgrade from Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The IP rating has improved to IP65 from IP64, and the device is slimmer at 8mm compared to 8.8mm previously.

Under the hood, it is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, replacing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Additionally, the 8GB variant has been removed, and the OnePlus 13R is available in two options: 12GB/256GB and 16GB/512GB, while maintaining the same starting price. The OnePlus 13R is available in Astral Trail and Nebula Noir color options.

In the camera department, the OnePlus 13R introduces a new 50MP telephoto lens and an 8MP ultrawide camera, removing the less practical 2MP macro sensor. The selfie camera remains unchanged at 16MP. The battery has been upgraded to 6000mAh, offering longer usage. However, wired charging has been adjusted to 80W SuperVOOC, compared to the 100W on the OnePlus 12R.

Both the OnePlus 13 and 13R come with 4 years of major software updates and 6 years of security updates. The OnePlus 13R starts at INR 42,999, and the OnePlus 13 is priced at INR 69,999.
