Samsung’s popular mid-range Galaxy A series is expected to launch this March, following its usual launch timeline. Among them, the Galaxy A36 will debut as the successor to the Galaxy A35. Ahead of the launch, the smartphone has been spotted on India’s BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification website.

BIS certification listing for Samsung Galaxy A36 model SM-A366E/DS

The Galaxy A36 has appeared on the BIS website with the model number SM-A366E/DS, hinting at an imminent launch. The same model number has also been listed on Samsung’s support pages in Kazakhstan and Russia. The “DS” in the model number confirms dual SIM card support.

Based on recent leaks, the Galaxy A36 will be powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, replacing the previous Exynos one. A leaked image reveals a new camera design, with the lenses now housed in an outer ring, known as the camera island. It will also support faster 45W charging. Other expected specs include a glass back, a 120Hz AMOLED display, a 50MP main camera, and an updated 12MP selfie camera, replacing the 13MP sensor.

The Galaxy A36 will launch with Android 15, featuring the OneUI 7 interface. It is also expected to receive up to 6 years of major OS and security updates. There are rumors suggesting that the Galaxy A36 could be the highest-end model in the Galaxy A series for the US, skipping the A56. More details will be revealed as the launch date approaches.
