Samsung has once again set a new standard with its highly anticipated Galaxy S25 series, offering cutting-edge AI features and sleek designs. The series, which includes the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra, was officially unveiled during the Unpacked event in San Jose, California, on Wednesday night. This time, Samsung focused more on enhancing software and AI features rather than making major upgrades. There are only a few hardware changes, including the global use of the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Additionally, Samsung has replaced 8GB RAM with 12GB RAM across all three models. Let’s dive deeper into the details.

Performance and Storage
The Galaxy S25 series is powered by a custom Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, which Samsung claims offers significant performance improvements. Compared to the previous generation, the chipset delivers a 40% boost in NPU performance, 37% in CPU, and 30% in GPU. These upgrades enhance the series’ ability to handle AI features like Generative Edit smoothly. Additionally, the phones include a 40% larger vapor chamber and a tailored thermal interface material (TIM) for better thermal management.
All models come with 12GB of base RAM and storage options include 256GB and 512GB. The vanilla Galaxy S25 also offers a 128GB version, while the Ultra model includes a massive 1TB option.
Design and Display
The Galaxy S25 Ultra now sports rounded corners, ditching the sharp edges of its predecessor. All models in the series are slimmer, with a 0.4mm reduction in thickness, and they’re also lighter. The Ultra model weighs 218g, down from 232g, while the Galaxy S25 and S25+ are 5-6g lighter. For durability, the Ultra is equipped with Corning Gorilla Armor 2 for both the front and back, while the S25 and S25+ continue with Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
The display sizes are 6.2 inches for the S25, 6.7 inches for the S25+, and 6.8 inches for the Ultra, all featuring 1-120Hz Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels. They now come with thinner bezels, offering a more immersive viewing experience.

Camera and Battery
The Galaxy S25 series enhances photo quality with high-resolution sensors and Samsung’s new ProVisual Engine. The only notable upgrade is on the Ultra model, where the ultra-wide camera has been upgraded to 50MP from 12MP. The rest of the camera setup remains unchanged: the Ultra features a 200MP main camera, 10MP telephoto, 50MP periscope telephoto, and a 12MP selfie camera.
The Galaxy S25 and S25+ include a 50MP main camera, 10MP telephoto, 12MP ultra-wide, and 12MP selfie. Battery capacity and charging speeds remain unchanged, with the S25 housing a 4000mAh battery with 25W charging, the S25+ offering 4900mAh at 45W, and the S25 Ultra featuring a 5000mAh battery at 45W.
AI Features and Software
The Galaxy S25 series introduces advanced AI features, including Call Transcript, Circle to Search, Writing Assist, Drawing Assist, and Audio Eraser, which removes unwanted voices from videos. It also debuts “Now Brief,” a feature that provides a daily summary with news, weather, events, and more.
The phones run on One UI 7 based on Android 15 and promise 7 years of OS and security updates, ensuring long-term software support.
