Samsung has just unveiled the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE after skipping the S22 FE. They recently introduced the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE with the Snapdragon 888 chip. Now, let’s explore how this new FE version differs from its predecessor in terms of design, camera, and specifications, considering all the leaks and speculations we’ve seen.
Display:
When it comes to the display, both the Galaxy S21 FE and S23 FE offer a 6.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with HDR10+ support and a silky-smooth 120Hz refresh rate. However, the S23 FE takes the lead with an impressive peak brightness of 1450 nits, making it ideal for outdoor use and vibrant media consumption.

Chipset:
Under the hood, the S21 FE boasts a 5nm-based Snapdragon 888 or Samsung Exynos 2100 processor, depending on your region. On the other hand, the S23 FE takes things up a notch with a 4nm-based Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or Samsung Exynos 2200 processor. This enhancement promises better performance and energy efficiency for an improved user experience.
Camera:
In camera department, Samsung S23 FE sports a 50MP main camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), an 8MP telephoto lens with 3X optical zoom, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 10MP selfie camera. In comparison, the S21 FE offers a 12MP main camera, 8MP telephoto lens, 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 32MP front camera.
Battery:
Both models come equipped with a 4500mAh battery, ensuring all-day usage. Additionally, they support up to 25W wired charging and 15W wireless charging, making it convenient to stay powered up.
RAM and Storage Options:
While the S21 FE offers various RAM and storage configurations, including 6GB/128GB, 8GB/128GB, and 8GB/256GB, the S23 FE provides 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB options. Both phones use the UFS 3.1 storage type, promising swift data access and app loading times.
Other Features:
Both the S21 FE and S23 FE boast an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. However, there’s a difference in the build materials. The S21 FE features a plastic back and front with Gorilla Glass Victus protection, while the S23 FE comes with Gorilla Glass 5 protection on both sides, which may be considered slightly less durable but still reliable.
Color Options:
The S23 FE offers a choice of six colors, including Black, White, Mint, Purple, Indigo, and Tangerine (exclusive to Samsung.com).
